Casing spacers improve the reliability and trustworthiness of your pipeline - while saving you money and manpower
Casing spacers prevent the casing pipe from touching the carrier pipe. End seals plug the gap between casing and carrier pipes.
The DWP range of Casing Spacers and Insulators combines proven dependability with ease of installation and provides an alternative to labor-intensive and unreliable wooden skids. They are easy to install and maintenance is straightforward.
Oil, gas, water sewerage and other fluids are centered in casings by using Casing Spacers.
Casing insulators support and insulate a cathodically secured pipeline from the casing pipe that it passes through. A variety of commonly used sizes are provided by DWP. We also supply end seals to a variety of pipe sizes. These products are virtually corrosion free and provide a shielding bar between casings and carrier pipes when an electrical short occurs.
Why use DWP Casings spacers and insulators?
DWP Casings and insulators |
Skids and straps |
No special tools or grease required for installation |
Installation is difficult, awkward and takes a long time .Laborious to tighten correctly |
A single person performs the installation |
Positioning involves many workers and a longer period of time |
Easily slides into place Friction coefficient = .1 |
Frequently damages skids to the point at which they need to be replaced because of its resistance to sliding, even before installation is complete |
There is no backfill required |
Backfill such as sand, pea gravel, or grout is needed |
A proven track record of reliability |
Low success rate |
Long-term corrosion protection and insulation |
Bacteria and differential oxygen concentration corrosion are possible because it is non-insulating |
Uses for casing spacers
Casing insulators support and electrically insulate a pipeline from the casing pipe through which it passes. They are used at river-,canal- and bridge crossings and at highways and railway crossings. Polyethylene casing insulators should be installed every 1,8 to 2,4 meters.
The casing spacers save on labor by eliminating the need for sand to fill the casing annulus. Furthermore, as an electrolyte in the annulus, sand contributes to the introduction of unwanted current to steel or ductile iron.
By removing the annular fill, it is easier to replace or repair damaged pipes. Since Drinkwater Product’s Casing Spacers do not require this fill, they lower installation costs while maintaining continuous access for maintenance.
